E1-1 "Didgeridoo Tutorial"

S-Rank Conditions:

Required Squads:

1 Combat Echelon at level 10

Introductory map, you don’t even fight Architect so don’t worry.

Turn 1

As you may have noticed, unit placement is totally random save for the Jaeger. So in some cases you will have to retry. If you don't care about the S-rank, just go straight to the HQ.

Turn 2

Enemy units with “!” above their head will move towards you, so we are using this mechanic to our advantage.

Turn 3

Easy.

E1-2 "Adolescence"

S-Rank Conditions:

Required Squads:

1 Combat + 1 Dummy

Another map with lots of RNG-induced placement of enemy units. Main thing to watch out for is to avoid fights with Manticores, but otherwise it is straight forward.

Turn 1

2 routes will be displayed, which differ in where the Manticore spawns. Second route is shown after this one. If you're solely looking to clear, just avoid Manticores and head straight for HQ.

E1-3 "Pioneer"

S-Rank Conditions:

Required Squads:

1 Combat Echelon around level 30

Map that requires no control. No, like you really just place a unit and end your turn twice to win.

Turn 1

Yes, just end turn.

Supply Established

End turn as well. As long as your echelon can fight once, you will be just fine. This will be great map to farm the fragments daily if you are a beginner in GFL.

E1-4 "Sonic Boom"

S-Rank Conditions:

Required Squads:

1 Combat + 1 Dummy

First map in EN to intorduce a new mechanic: command consoles and defense gates! It’s a relatively simple map otherwise. 2nd Combat echelon only needs to fight once so it can be weaker.

E1-5 "Chicken Breast"

S-Rank Conditions:

Required Squads:

2 Combat Eche + 2 Dummy around level 30 for S-rank, can be cleared with 1 Combat + 1-2 Dummy.

Bit of a tricky map that introduces new enemy behavior: Patroling. However it’s easy to understand and adapt to. If you’re interested in how you can clear it on lower requirements check the Side Note at the bottom!

Aggro Mechanic

Here are explanations on the patrol behavior of red beans.

Aggro Mechanic

Here are explanations on the patrol behavior of red beans.

Turn 1a

Start with 2 combat echelons on each helipad. The initial goal is to capture more helipads. The Dinergate will not move from its helipad.

Turn 2a

Deploy a 2nd Dummy Echelon on your HQ. There will be lots of swapping positions up ahead.

Turn 2c

Combat Echelon on top of the map swaps to the left side of the HQ and takes care of the black bean.

Turn 2d

Combat Echelon on the bottom side moves to aggro the red bean towards bottom side.

Turn 3a

Now we need to move the red bean on the left side of the map away from the hostage.

Turn 3b

Left side can be done with Dummy Echelons so we move the combat echelon towards the right side.

Turn 3c

Short note saying that the red bean makes a path to either dummy. You just have to move that dummy away once, and the other dummy will move in to rescue the hostage.

Turn 4a

Always make sure to swap with the hostage before rescuing her to save a move point.

Turn 4b

For the right side, move away from the red bean and then move the Combat Echelon from top towards the hostage.

Turn 5a

Swap before rescuing!

Turn 5b

Once you manually extract on both sides, the mission will end.

Side Note

If your only interest is clearing this map, it can be done with 1 Combat + 2 Dummy Echelons. You will have to clear out some mobs the near HQ and bait out red beans to grab the hostages. Start with the lower left one, it's also prone to RNG on whether or not other enemies will cap your HQ or not!

E1-6 "Fear of Public Speaking"

S-Rank Conditions:

Required Squads:

1 Combat Echelon

A relatively straight forward map where a decent RF/HG team can push through all the scary looking units with ease. Enemies on the main route can be problematic for ARSMG so if you want to see an alternative to clear the map, check it out at the bottom!

Turn 1

If you are using AR/SMG, use self-buff ARs with some HGs to add more firepower.

Turn 2b

Once you resupply on the temporary node, go straight to the HQ.

Alternative Route

If your only interest is clearing this map, it can be done with 1 Combat + 1 Dummy. First turn spawn main eche, move it down and spawn a dummy eche on HQ. Then follow the route. If you see that a Doppel blocks path further then wait a turn and never leave your eche right next to a Doppel. This route can be RNG due to Strelets messing up Doppels movement but it will just mainly force you to wait additional turns.

E1-7 "Truth or Dare"

S-Rank Conditions:

Required Squads:

3 Combat around level 50-70 OR 1 Combat [Parachute Fairy] + 1 Dummy, can be cleared(non-S) with 2 combat squads where one is around level 30 and the other is 70.

This map is a troll in the sense that a lot of enemy units don’t move and some units don’t even follow the their assigned mechanics. Elaborations will follow. A method on how to utilize the Parachute Fairy will also be discussed, as it is the only way to get an S-rank in this map.  On EN the turn limit for S rank was increased by 1 so it’s now possible to S-rank without Parachute.

Turn 1

Dinergate and Manticore will stay where they are.

Turn 2

Dummy position does not matter here, you need only extra AP next turn.

Turn 3a

Here you can either spawn a 3rd combat echelon for S-rank or move second echelon back and retreat it on the helipad, then redeploy it on a newly captured helipad. Doing the latter will forfeit the S rank but allow you to clear the map with 2 combat echelons

Turn 3b

Move straight to the HQ while getting the kills required for S.

E1-8 "The Last Rain in The World"

S-Rank Conditions:

Required Squads:

2 Combat at level 70, can be cleared(non-S) with 1 combat squad at level 80 and 3 Dummies.

Probably the one map that will require the most skill and levels just for the boss. I recommend re-reading the Nyto boss mechanic and skills before fighting. You can find an example of one eche run in the Video tab of the page.

Turn 1

Start with 1 Dummy on the upper left helipad and two combat echelons on the right Helipads. Ideally you would want a night ARSMG Echelon on the bottom as this echelon will fight the boss. Move the echelons to capture nearby helipads to increase future move points.

Turn 2a

ARSMG Echelon on the bottom side moves onto the Helipad to kill the enemy unit and resupplies before returning to its original position.

Turn 2b

This is where we have to make a choice: If there is a Doppelsoldner [or Gundam] blocking the way, we have to wait a turn to let it through. In this case it was. If it was not for you then scroll down till you find Turn 2C Second Route.

Turn 2c

With a Gundam in the way, we go into the revolving door to avoid fights. Use your remaining move for the Dummy to take the Radar. This will aggro the Gundam on the top half of the map.

Turn 3a

The ARSMG Echelon resupplies from the temporary resupply node and moves just south of the enemy HQ. Then on the upper right Helipad, spawn a 2nd Dummy.

Turn 3b

Since the HQ is “protected” with one directional paths, surround-capturing it is the only way to finish the mission. 2nd Dummy and 2nd Combat Echelon will accomplish that.

Turn 3c

Recommended to re-read up on the Boss tab of this page before continuing.

Turn 4a

Dummy is in danger of getting attacked by the Gundam at the top half of the map, just have it move up once while the other Echelons on the right side move into position.

Turn 4c

ALWAYS make sure to swap locations between the Combat Echelon and dummy echelon since new enemy pops out from the helipad nearby.

Turn 2b Second Route

This is where your next moves may differ: Now that you don’t see the Gundam blocking the path, you go all the way to the temporary supply node instead this time.

Turn 3 Second Route

On turn 3, we put the ARSMG Echelon into position to fight Nyto, while the upper Echelon gets into position to surround-capture the upper half of the HQ.

Turn 4a Second Route

Unfortunately this route is not eligible for S-Rank, as the Gundam is too close to the HQ. So you'll want a Dummy Echelon to be on the outside this time.

E1-1EX "Didgeridoo Tutorial EX"

S-Rank Conditions:

Required Squads:

2 Combat echelons(ARSMG level 90 with good equip recommended) + 1 Dummy

First introduction of SWAP units of SF in EN, way ahead of its schedule. We have an infographic explaining their differences from normal counterparts. Check the Enemy tab.

Turn 1

Manticore in the middle of the map should be avoided. Spawn a 2nd Combat Echelon.

Turn 2

1st Combat Echelon moves around the Manticore to capture another Helipad.

Turn 3a

Swap between Echelons if the first one is too heavily damaged. Architect will come down at the end to fight. Small reminder - use a "K" formation and dodge her nukes.

Turn 3b

Architect is a little weaker than she was on CN so you should be fine as long as you fight her properly.

E1-2EX "Adolescence EX"

S-Rank Conditions:

Required Squads:

1 Combat echelons(ARSMG level 90 with good equip recommended) + 1 Dummy, this can be cleared without fighting so possible to use just 2 dummies.

This is one map with a hidden achievement where you do not fight at all to clear the mission. The most common cases where you can meet this requirement will be covered. Note that this one is RNG dependant if you want to clear with just 2 dummies.

Turn 1 Case A

This is just one of many cases of how Manticores are positioned. Alternative cases will be covered below.

Turn 4 Case A

Once a path opens up for you to go through without having to fight any enemies, take it to reach the enemy HQ safely.

E1-3EX "Pioneer EX"

S-Rank Conditions:

Required Squads:

3 Combat Echelons (2ARSMG, level 90 + 1-2 well equipped RFHG recommended) + 2 Dummy (one to replace HOC).

Because HOC support is not available in EN as of yet, this map has been slightly altered, so I would suggest replacing the HOC with a dummy and use the guide as mainly reference.  WARNING: ENEMY MOVEMENT PATTERN CHANGED A BIT FOR EN, IT MAY TAKE A FEW TRIES TO CLEAR NOW! ALSO A VIDEO GUIDE SPECIFICALLY FOR EN VERSION WAS RELEASED, YOU CAN SEE IT ON THE VIDEO TAB!

Turn 1a

Start with 2 main Combat Echelons, then spawn an additional Combat Echelon and a Dummy Echelon.

Turn 1b

Combat Echelon from HQ moves to take Helipad next to one direction path.

Turn 2a

If there’s any unit near the Helipad, take care of it. Most people would already struggle in this turn due to the changes. You'll likely see a big Doppel near your HQ, you will have to use a Dummy Echelon to bait him out. It has an aggro range of 1, so you'll have to sacrifice Dummies to it each turn to bait him.

Turn 3a

Now the Gundam will be on the move to catch any unit nearby. Spawn a Dummy to use as a diversion. Then the Combat Echelon retreats back to the HQ.

Turn 3b

This is where your moves will diverge from the guide, most likely as the Gundam’s movements can be completely random. But the goal is to establish a supply route in a sickle shape.

Turn 4

Make sure to resupply the Echelon on the bottom that is continuing to clear out mobs near the HQ. Otherwise, continue with the supply chain route.

Turn 5

Depending on where the Gundam is, you may be able to capture the Helipad on the top right of the map, stopping the flow of enemy units, which can make this map easier to deal with. adopt accordingly.

Turn 6

Even if the game says the the supply chain is broken due to enemy disruption, it will immediately re-established immediately, so don’t worry.

Turn 7

Who tha man?
You tha man.

E1-4EX "Sonic Boom EX"

S-Rank Conditions:

Required Squads:

2 Combat echelons(2ARSMG level 90 with good equip recommended) + 2 Dummy

Relatively easy map that requires a bit of puzzle solving, using the console and gate mechanic. There’s also introduction of the AA platform that will prevent new deployment (even via Parachute Skill) on nearby Helipads.

Turn 1a

Map itself is relatively simple but has a lot of moving pieces from managing the console and the gates. You can have only one gate open at a time using the console on the bottom of HQ.

Turn 1c

We leave the gate open and let the enemy unit move onto it only to squish 'em next turn.

Turn 2a

Shift control of the bottom gate towards the top gate.

Turn 2b

Combat Echelon moves to take control of the console on the top left, then close gate behind it.

Turn 2c

Our new Combat Echelon is deployed on the HQ, then goes straight through to the center.

Turn 2d

Shift control to the middle gate.

Turn 3a

Using the newly acquired console on the left, it opens up the path to the right console.

Turn 3b

Combat echelon in the center moves to activate the console on the right then moves back to the starting position.

Turn 3c

Combat echelon in the center moves to activate the console on the right, then moves back to the starting position.

Turn 3d

Combat Echelon in the center moves to activate the console on the right then moves back to the starting position.

Turn 3e

Combat echelon in the center moves to activate the console on the right then moves back to the starting position.

Turn 4a

Rescue the hostage all the way at the bottom and move back behind the closed gate.

Turn 5a

This is where RNG could prevent you from getting the S-rank as the Gundam could move back up instead of moving left or right. If this is the case, you need to redeploy or deploy another Combat Echelon that will make a path to the Helipad.

Turn 5a

The 4 gates behind the Helipad could be opened up using codes in the following sequence: “A-B-A-D-K-C” You have to scroll between gate commands from the console here. To reset, find Code “L”.

Turn 5a

Open Sesame.

E1-5EX "Chicken Breast EX"

S-Rank Conditions:

Required Squads:

2 Combat echelons(ARSMG level 90 and RFHG level 90 with good equip recommended) + 2 Dummy

Map with an advanced radar gimmick that turns enemy units into friendly units. This is shown again in future events. SWAP units on the right side hurt lots, so it’s recommended you take your strongest units to the right.

Turn 1

Spawn both Combat Echelons and take the Helipad to the right of the HQ.

Turn 2

Combat Echelon moves through the radar in order to activate the gimmick, which buys us a turn to rescue the hostage on the right side. This is mandatory.

Turn 3

We do the same thing on the left side using the other Combat Echelon.

Turn 4

As always, swap before rescuing the hostage dolls.

Turn 5

Move both Combat Echelons into position and there is no more need to get into combat.

Turn 6a

Move both Combat Echelons into position and there is no more need to get into combat.

Turn 7

The remaining Combat Echelon a makes bee-line to the doll chain link and swaps all the way to the HQ for manual extraction.

E1-6EX "Fear of Public Speaking EX"

S-Rank Conditions:

Required Squads:

2 Combat echelons(ARSMG level 90 and RFHG level 90 with good equip recommended) + 2 Dummy

Revolving doors. MICA can’t get enough of them. That aside, this map’s pretty simple. However, due to the revolving door being induced with RNG, it could screw you over, forcing you to just redo the map sometimes.

Turn 1

Start with a Combat Echelon and move on to the radar to the right of the HQ. Radar will provide vision to the HQ for spawning more Echelons on the next turn.

Turn 2a

Spawn a Dummy then move to the right once.

Turn 2b

Spawn 2nd Combat Echelon as last move for the turn.

Turn 3a

1st Combat echelon resupplies and sweeps the area near the radar to prevent the Dummy from getting into combat.

Turn 3b

Every other unit moves once the the right.

Turn 4a

Start of the turn, spawn a 2nd Dummy Echelon, then swap the 1st Combat Echelon in the front all the way back to the HQ to resupply, then return to the position. If you are having trouble managing your health pool, you can use a 2nd Combat Echelon instead.

Turn 4b

Jump into the revolving door and make sure you are at least two nodes ahead of the Gundam that’s chasing you from the rear.

Turn 4c

Take next two turns slowly moving through.

Turn 6

You can technically clear this map with 1 Combat + 3 Dummies instead, but that’s relying too much on RNG, so I'd recommend leaving at least one Combat Echelon near the HQ.

Turn 7

Combat Echelon exits the revolving door and then waits a turn to draw out the Gundam from the enemy HQ node.

Turn 8

Then you wrap around the other way to take the HQ. Simple.

E1-7EX "Truth or Dare EX"

S-Rank Conditions:

Required Squads:

2 Combat echelons(2 ARSMG level 90with good equip recommended) + 2 Dummy

Introduction of the abandoned Goliath mechanic in EN. Additionally, the map has gimmicks depending on whether it is an even or odd turn. More will be explained further down the guide.

Turn 1a

The path I’m taking is to avoid fights with SWAP Dragoon units, which can easily wreck all dolls that are currently out.
Such is the case even over in the CN and KR servers with MOD enabled.
Strongly advised to not engage.

Turn 1b

Vespid units have a move priority at the bottom right so you will be safe from the Dragoon this turn.

Turn 2a

Ideally, what you'd want to do is move the Combat Echelon back to the HQ, then swap with the Dummy after resupplying, then move the left one. This ultimately saves a move point compared to moving them individually.

Turn 2b

Spawn another Combat Echelon on the other end and proceed to take the Helipad at the center of the circle.

Turn 2d

Dummy moves in behind the Combat Echelon, then swap places.

Turn 3a

Combat Echelon takes the bomb by standing on the node with it, then use same interface as the console. After that, move to the bottom left of the center area.

Turn 3b

End turn here to gain additional move points.

Turn 4a

When you approach the corner of the square, you will automatically get a pop-up, showing the bomb command and highlighting the nodes with red beans on them. Click the “throw out” option and you'll have cleared them all out.

Turn 4b

Depending on when you move into this area, you have to be aware of where the beans spawn. On an even-numbered turn you will take care of the Helipad from the outside. Do not attempt to capture on odd turns unless you can make it all the way to the center of the circle area.

Turn 5

Now that it’s an odd turn, move clock-wise to take the next sets of Helipads.

Turn 6

Once you get to the center, you are all set!

E1-8EX "The Last rain in the World EX"

S-Rank Conditions:

Required Squads:

2 Combat Echelons (2 ARSMG, level 90 with good equipment recommended)

This map combines a lot of the gimmicks from other maps, which you may not see right away. However for EN, the boss fight has been nerfed, so we may see an easier fight. Again use this guide section mainly as a reference to know what you are supposed to be doing each turn in general.

Turn 1a

Start with the Dummy echelon on HQ at far right, boss fight Echelon on the bottom left helipad, then a 2nd Combat Echelon on the top Helipad. Combat Echelon will make a route hitting all radars in the next few turns while clearing out enemies.

Turn 1b

When you step on radars you will get the “scattered dolls” friendly units near the HQ. Set the first one on the left top side to “Capture HQ” and the rest to “wait”.

Turn 2a

Combat Echelon finishes hitting all the radars and leaves it as it finished its business for this map. The boss fight Echelon moves to the right. Now for the friend Echelons near the enemy boss, set the bottom left two units to HQ, which creates a barrier that blocks Boss units from approaching the friendly HQ.

Turn 2b

The Boss unit will move to the intended position and we will use the gimmick next turn.

Turn 3a

Combat Echelon moves through the bottom side and you shouldn't see any challenging opponents here normally.

Turn 3b

As you can see, the node with the friendly unit on it has the “cannot move into” symbol there. Then make sure to set it to "Wait" so it does not move. Finally, set the one on the top side as “Capture HQ”, which will block the both top and bottom route.

Turn 4

As you can see, the friendly T-Dolls have blocked the path once more and prevented the boss from moving forward.

Turn 5

Once you get to this point, you should have no issue fighting the Boss.

Hidden "Habanera"

S-Rank Conditions:

Required Squads:

1 Combat Echelon(Better to have Jill with Big Beer in it, the fight is tough) + Dummy

Hidden map that requires 3 special units from 3 different maps to be killed before being unlocked. Boss fight is rather straight forward if you do it as it was intended. Jill needs to be in the squad as she needs to use her skill 10 times to kill the boss. You can kill her without Jill, but it’s going to be much harder and you are looking at around a 5 min long fight, if you’ll even survive that long, that is.

E1-3 Kill Target

1-3 Normal: On this map you normally would have to wait until turn 6~7 or longer for the special Gundam unit to spawn from the highlighted helipad. Once you kill it, you can terminate the mission and still get the credit.

E1-6 Target

1-6 Normal: Special Gundam unit will spawn in the “?” nodes. Again, you can terminate soon as you killed it

E1-8 Target

1-8 Normal: This one is plainly visible and even has an “i” node next to its node to grab your attention, just kill it!

Turn 1a

Just have a Dummy Echelon on the left side and a boss fight Echelon on the right side. Having Jill in the Echelon is recommended unless you are doing the speedrun contest or like a little extra challenge.

Turn 1b

Once you survive long enough for Jill to mix a drink 10 times, you win!
